1. If the thermometer has a cover or sleeve, remove it.
2. Insert the thermometer probe into the innermost part of the thigh and note the temperature.
3. Next, insert the thermometer into the thickest part of the breast, not touching the bone.
4. If both temperatures are high enough, your bird is safe to eat.
