The Dublintini cocktail is an easy holiday twist to the classic martini

5D4B7164 - Dublintini

Thirsty for a fun and festive spin on the usual martini? Our Dublitini, inspired by James & Everett, is an Irish take on the traditional gin and vermouth cocktail. Smacking of sour apple and cranberry juice balanced with the smooth taste of Irish whiskey, this green-hued drink will make you want to dance an Irish jig.

Though you may think boozy Irish drinks are best on St. Patrick’s Day, we recommend you shake up your holiday cocktail options with a Dublintini. Surprise your Thanksgiving and Christmas company with a green martini or delight your party-hardy New Year’s Eve guests with yet another cocktail they can sip or sluice. Or, pour yourself a Dublintini any time you want to celebrate the Irish for good whiskey. Once you sip on this green drink, you’ll find any excuse to serve it up.

What is a Dublinitini? Think sour apple martini meets Irish whiskey, gets married and takes a honeymoon in your mouth! Sour apple martinis typically are made with generous splashes of sour apple schnapps, which delivers a deliciously strong punch of sour apple flavor, and vodka or gin.

For the Dublintini, Irish whiskey steps in for the vodka or gin, adding its distinctly clean and smooth grain flavor. To make our Irish-inspired martini even more mouthwateringly memorable, we add white cranberry juice for its sweet-tart flavor and clear color. The Dublintini needs to be green, after all.

We also think an Irish cocktail recipe needs to be fuss-free, so the Dublintini is a three-ingredient drink. Seriously, only three ingredients (minus the easy garnish)! Ready to grab your cocktail shaker and a chilled martini glass? Friend, you’re mere minutes from an unforgettable sipping experience.

Our bartending rule? Never ever serve a naked martini. The presentation is an essential step in making outstanding cocktails, so don’t forget an appropriate martini garnish. For this Irish martini, slip a slice of fresh green apple and a twist of lemon over the edge of the glass. Green apples and lemons are a terrific match of flavors and colors for the sour apple schnapps and cranberry juice.

Once you’ve garnished your glass, your delicious Dublintini is ready for drinking.
