Of course I love a good pumpkin pie, but nothing beats a crunchy, gooey, sugary pecan pie to cure a sweet tooth after a savory Thanksgiving feast. Bake up this fail-proof, classic pecan pie everyone is sure to love, or you get inventive with one of the amazing twists on a pecan pie.

Best basic pecan pie recipe

Yield 6


  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup of white sugar
  • 1/2 cup dark Karo syrup
  • 1 stick of butter, softened
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla


  1. Beat eggs until they're light and fluffy.
  2. Add sugar and beat again.
  3. Pour in syrup, butter, pecans, salt and vanilla.
  4. Beat again and pour into pie crust.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  6. Bake for 10 minutes; then reduce temperature to 325 for 30 minutes.
  7. Enjoy with whipped cream or ice cream.
