Make a plain gelatin base
Pour water into a small saucepan and sprinkle the Knorr plain gelatin on top. Allow it to bloom for 3 to 4 minutes. Heat on low, stirring constantly, until the plain gelatin dissolves. Set this aside.
Partially set the lime, orange, and cherry Jell-O
These shots are flavorfully and colorfully layered. Let’s make the base of these Jell-O layers. Using three separate bowls, prepare the lime, orange, and cherry Jell-O placing 1 flavor in each bowl. Prepare according to “fast set” directions on the back of the Jell-O box until partially set.
Add vodka and plain gelatin to the Jell-O
Here’s where the fun begins. Add 3/4 cup of vodka into each bowl of Jell-O. Stir well to combine. Pour a 1/2-cup portion of the plain gelatin into each of the Jell-O flavors, stirring well to combine.
Prepare the sweetened condensed milk layer
Pour sweetened condensed milk into a large bowl. Add 1 cup of the plain gelatin and stir well to combine. Divide the sweetened condensed milk mixture into 1/2-cup portions.
Layer Jell-O and sweetened condensed milk gelatin in shot glasses
Remove the chilled shot glasses from the freezer. Measure and pour 1 tablespoon of 1 Jell-O color into the glasses. Freeze for 5 minutes to set up. Remove the shot glasses from the freezer and pour 1 tablespoon of the milk/gelatin mixture into each of the glasses over the first layer of Jell-O. Freeze for 5 minutes to set. Continue to layer Jell-O and milk/gelatin mixture until all of the shot glasses are filled and set.
Note: Your Halloween Vodka Jell-O shots will boo-tifully boast 5 luscious layers, alternating three flavors of colored fruity gelatin and two layers of sweetened condensed milk gelatin.
