The flower crown trend is still going strong and for good reason: There’s something festive and fun about wearing one. And by the way, they’re not only for queens; kings can wear them, too.
Considering Easter is just around the corner and we here at Thanksgiving & Co. are a little lot extra when it comes to showing holiday spirit, we figured it was time to make our own Easter bunny flower crown. But it couldn’t be just any flower crown; it needs to have bunny ears. And tiny painted eggs.

Before we hop to it (get it?), here’s the bad news: Making flower crowns can be tricky at first. I tried to teach Content Director Lauren Joskowitz how to make an Easter crown for herself, and, well…you’ll see her struggle in the video below.
But fear not. It’s very doable once you get the hang of it, and it’s really fun. Practice makes perfect for this crafting technique. To learn how to make an Easter bunny ear flower crown yourself, follow our how-to video, or jump straight to the written steps below.
Materials
Floral tape (Michaels, $2.59)
Scissors (Any house scissors will do, about $9.99)
Wire clippers (Amazon, $10.99)
Vine wire for the base of your crown (Michaels, $5.39)
Floral wire, 20 gauge (Michaels, $2.59)
Flowers and greenery — whatever kind you like (Trader Joe’s, $4.99 per bunch)
Instructions
- Wrap the vine wire around your head to create the base of your flower crown. Measure it true to size — no need for extra space.
- Twist the ends of the vine wire to secure in place. (We’ll wrap the ends in floral tape so it will stay secure and the ends won’t poke your head.) Keep about 2 inches of the stem attached to the base to make attaching the flowers easier.
- Shape and measure your ears using the vine wire however you like. We made ours about 8 inches tall. Once you shape one ear, use it as a guide to shape the second ear so they match.
- Twist the base of the ears so they hold their shape, and then twist the ends of the vine wire onto the flower crown. We recommend trying on your crown and using a mirror to decide where you want to put your ears.
- Wrap floral tape around the base of the crown, making sure to cover all the ends of the wire securely.
- Now the fun part: Pick your flowers and get wrapping. We added flowers only to the front half of our flower crowns, but you can cover the entirety of the crown if you choose. Note: If you’re using real flowers, the crown will get heavy.
- Wear it like the royalty you are! And when you’re going crownless, store it in the fridge.

These flower crowns can last up to a week, depending on the freshness of the flowers and the temperature. For example, if you wear your crown for an afternoon in the summer sun, it will likely droop by the end of the day.
